The much-anticipated Ayawaso East by-election is currently underway, with more than 49,000 registered voters participating in the democratic process. Early reports indicate that voting is proceeding smoothly and peacefully across the constituency.

Electoral officials confirmed that polling stations opened on schedule this morning, with voters lining up to cast their ballots in a calm and orderly manner. The by-election was called following death of the Member of Parliament few months ago, prompting a keen contest among various political parties vying for the seat.

Security personnel have been deployed across the constituency to ensure a secure environment, and there have been no reports of disturbances or electoral irregularities so far. Voters expressed confidence in the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of their participation in shaping the future leadership of the area.

The Electoral Commission has urged all voters to remain peaceful and security safety protocols while casting their ballots. The results are expected to be announced later today, with political observers watching closely to see how the vote will influence the upcoming national political landscape.

This by-election is seen as a critical indicator of public sentiment as Stakeholders hope that the process continues smoothly and that the outcome reflects the will of the people of Ayawaso East.
