The Board of the National Service Authority (NSA), led by Chairman Mr. Emmanuel Okai Mintah, and Management, headed by Director-General Ruth Dela Seddoh, is holding a high-level retreat at Heartland Hotel in Ada.
The four-day retreat, taking place from September 30th to October 3rd, 2025, is aimed at orienting newly appointed Board members, deepening their understanding of the Authority’s mandate, structure, and operations, and providing a platform to collectively address key challenges while exploring opportunities for advancing the NSA’s mission.
The sessions have been carefully designed to:
- Provide clarity on the NSA’s mandate, organizational structure, systems, and the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119).
- Define the roles and responsibilities of Board members in governance, oversight, and strategic direction.
- Expose members to operational processes, systemic challenges, and recent reforms.
- Build cohesion between the Board and Management, aligning both toward shared outcomes for national development.
The first and second sessions were facilitated by Mr. Mike K. Gabah, former Commissioner at the Public Services Commission, who delivered a presentation on the theme: “Corporate Governance Architecture: Enhancing the Effectiveness of Governing Boards and Board-Management Relationship.”
Mr. Gabah’s presentation highlighted the composition and functions of the Public Services of Ghana, key governance principles, challenges within public sector administration, and the emerging trends shaping public service delivery. He emphasized the importance of ethical leadership, accountability, and Board–Management collaboration in positioning the NSA as a model of excellence in public service.
The retreat underscores the Authority’s renewed commitment to strong corporate governance, effective oversight, and strategic leadership as it continues to mobilize and deploy service personnel to support Ghana’s socio-economic development agenda.
