The Chief Executive of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe, led his Executive Management team on a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, Ga Mantse.
They were there to pay homage and seek his blessings on their operations as the current Executive Management team of the NHIA.
The visit, which took place at His Royal Majesty’s private residence in Accra on Thursday October 23, 2025, was also to formally invite the King to serve as Chairperson of the NHIA’s maiden National Stakeholders Conference, scheduled for October 28–29, 2025, at the Alisa Hotel.
The conference, themed “Consolidating Strategic Partnerships for a Resilient and Inclusive Health Insurance Scheme,” marks a pivotal moment in the Authority’s renewed commitment to stakeholder engagement and resetting of the National Health Insurance Scheme for better service delivery.
The two-day event reflects Dr. Bampoe’s philosophy of inclusivity and collaborative leadership in “resetting” the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) for improved delivery and sustainability.
“I’m deeply honored to be here with my team today. First of all, we came to pay courtesy to His Royal Majesty. We are operating in His Royal Highness’s jurisdiction, so we thought it right to be here to pay
homage to this very great king so that we know the way to His Royal Highness’s abode and whenever He calls us, we know how to find our way to him.
“We know that we have a certain convergence of aspirations. Nii is very interested in health, as was evidenced by the registration of many vulnerable people and children in his jurisdiction,” Dr. Bampoe noted.
He also underscored the significance of the upcoming stakeholders conference, describing it as the most important item on the NHIA’s calendar in recent times.
Invitation to Chair Stakeholders’ Conference
Formally inviting the King to the NHIA’s maiden National Stakeholders Conference, scheduled for October 28–29, 2025, at the Alisa Hotel, Accra, Dr Bampoe noted that after careful consideration, the Authority found no better person than His Royal Majesty to chair the event, citing his leadership, influence, and passion for health.
“This is the most important event on our calendar. We looked far and wide and could find no better person than His Royal Highness to grace the occasion with His presence.
“The President himself would have loved to be there, but since he will be traveling, he has delegated the Vice President to represent him. With all humility, we seek the indulgence of Nii to grace us with His presence so that we have a fantastic event.” Dr Bampoe said.
Dr. Bampoe was accompanied by two of his deputies, Mr. Raphael Segkpeb, Deputy CEO, Administration and HR and Madam Anatu Anne Seidu Bogobiri ESQ, Deputy CEO, Finance and Investment.
He pledged the NHIA’s support and allegiance to health initiatives spearheaded by the Office of the Ga Mantse, affirming the Authority’s readiness to collaborate on programs that advance healthcare access and delivery.
“So, we want to pledge our support. We want to pledge allegiance. We want to pledge that we want to partner with Him and the Palace. Whatever he wants to do in terms of health, we are ever ready and willing to support and be part of it,” he said.
Royal Response
In response, His Royal Majesty Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, adorned in regal attire, warmly welcomed the NHIA delegation and graciously accepted the invitation to chair the conference.
