The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, paid a familiarization visit to two Free Zone Enterprises.
The visit formed part of the CEO’s ongoing engagement with free zone enterprises, which aims to deepen relations with licensed Free Zone Enterprises and gain firsthand insight into their operations and challenges.
The CEO visited Eco-Trade Limited, a commercial company dealing in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and Wahu Mobility Limited, an electric bicycle assembly facility On May 14, 2025,
At Eco-Trade, the CEO met with the Managing Director, Wissam Raad, who indicated that the company uses Ghana as a transit point to export its products to other African countries.
At Wahu Mobility, the CEO met with the Chief Financial Officer, Abena Baidoo, and the management team. Ms. Baidoo, in her presentation, stated that Wahu Mobility aims to provide total connectivity solutions and promote the development of mobility entrepreneurs.
In her remarks, the CEO reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the companies in their expansion efforts and commended them for their contributions to the national economy. She gave special commendation to Wahu Mobility for being a women-led company and for its innovative business model. She also urged both companies to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the Authority.
The visit underscores the Authority’s dedication to fostering a responsive and business-friendly environment that empowers Free Zone Enterprises to flourish and play a pivotal role in advancing Ghana’s export-led industrialization agenda.
The CEO was accompanied by Lateef Apau Wiredu, Deputy CEO (Operations); Patience Agbleze Acorlor, Director, Corporate Affairs & PR; Hajia Hanatu Abubakar-Bimi, Director, Administration; Michael Larbi, Head of Compliance; and other officials of the Authority.
