A floor built for commerce collapsed under the weight of compromise. At approximately 6:00 pm on Sunday, 28th December 2025, the structural integrity of the Amasaman China Mall gave way. A section of its first floor crashed down, leaving a trail of injury in its wake. What was designed as a marketplace became a hazard; what was intended for prosperity became a site of peril as excessive loading fractured the building’s frame.
The Ga West Municipal Assembly has acted not merely with administrative speed, but with moral necessity. It has ordered the immediate closure of the facility following a joint inspection by the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) and technical officers. The inspection revealed a chilling reality: public safety and security had been significantly compromised, posing an imminent risk to both lives and property.
In the eyes of the Assembly, the law is not a suggestion but a shield, and that shield has now been lowered to bar entry to a facility that no longer guarantees the sanctity of life. The Mall shall remain a vacant monument to negligence until all identified structural and safety deficiencies are fully addressed. Only when the facility is certified fit for use by the appropriate authorities will the doors be permitted to reopen.
While the injured are currently receiving medical attention, the scars of such an incident run deeper than physical fractures. They serve as a stark reminder that the pursuit of profit must never outweigh the protection of the person. The Assembly has made its position immovable, advising the public to stay away and asserting that where public safety is at stake, no compromise will be made.
