The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) has organized a comprehensive training session for seventeen (17) newly licensed Free Zone Enterprises on 12th November 2025. The session aimed to equip participants with the requisite knowledge, regulatory guidance, and operational tools to ensure smooth and compliant operations within the Free Zone Scheme.
In his welcome address, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations), Mr. Apau Lateef Wiredu, underscored the importance of strict adherence to the Authority’s operational guidelines. He reiterated the GFZA’s unwavering commitment to fostering an enabling business environment that promotes growth, competitiveness, and sustainability while safeguarding the collective interests of Free Zone Enterprises.
Mr. Wiredu also highlighted that the Authority is marking its 30th Anniversary, celebrating three decades of facilitating trade, investment and economic development in Ghana.
The training featured detailed presentations from key departments within the Authority, including Immigration, Monitoring, Transport, Registry, Marketing, Corporate Affairs, Credit Control, and Management Information Systems (MIS). Participants received insights into crucial operational areas such as licensing procedures, submission of annual reports, financial and compliance management, IT systems, and the scope of permitted and restricted activities under the Free Zone regulations.
Emphasis was also placed on the Authority’s Aftercare and Handholding Services, which are tailored to support enterprises in their growth, expansion, and sustainability journey.
The GFZA remains dedicated to providing continuous support and policy facilitation to ensure that Free Zone Enterprises operate efficiently and competitively. Through such capacity building initiatives, the Authority reaffirms its mission to empower businesses to thrive and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s economic transformation agenda.
