The Minister of Finance on behalf of President is set to unveil its 2026 budget on Thursday 13th November, 3025 at 2 p.m. in the Parliament House marking a crucial step towards economic transformation and growth.
The budget, dubbed a “blueprint for a stronger, more inclusive future,” is expected to focus on job creation and private sector-led growth.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson will present the budget to Parliament, outlining revenue and expenditure projections, as well as policy measures to stabilize the economy and sustain growth.
Key areas of focus include infrastructure development, social protection, education, and youth empowerment.
Indications are that the budget allocation for road infrastructure is expected to be more than double, with GHC30.8 billion earmarked for the Big Push Agenda, up from GHC13.8 billion in 2025.
This aims to accelerate infrastructure development, enhance regional connectivity, and strengthen Ghana’s position as a trade hub in West Africa.
The 2026 budget will also prioritize fiscal discipline, aiming to maintain a primary surplus of 1.5% of GDP, in line with the Fiscal Responsibility Act.
With Ghana set to exit the IMF program in May 2026, the budget will be closely watched for signs of economic direction and commitment to fiscal sustainability.
