Tension is brewing in Anloga District after allegations of abuse of office were leveled against the District Director of Education, Dominic Dzanado. A petition signed by concerned parents and teachers has been sent to President John Dramani Mahama, through the DCE for Area, seeking his intervention in the matter.
The petition, which was received by the DCE for Anloga Sandra Setram Kpedor, has sparked widespread concern and outrage in the community. The DCE has assured the petitioners that the matter will be forwarded to the President through the Volta Regional Minister for consideration and action.
In a show of solidarity, a demonstration was organized to bring attention to the issue, with the Ghana Police Service praised for ensuring a peaceful and orderly process.
The community is calling for a thorough investigation into the allegations and swift action to address any wrongdoing.
Below is the full statement post by the DCE on her Facebook wall:
A while ago, I received a petition addressed to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama from concerned parents and teachers in the Anloga District, alleging abuse of office by the Anloga District Director of Education, Mr. Dominic Dzanado.
I undertook to formally transmit their petition through the Volta Regional Minister to the President for his due consideration and appropriate action.
I further commend the organisers of the demonstration and the Ghana Police Service for ensuring that the exercise was conducted in a peaceful, orderly, and lawful manner.
