It gives me great joy and a deep sense of pride to be part of this momentous occasion—the 60th Anniversary Launch of Abor Senior High School, an esteemed institution whose legacy continues to shape the future of countless young men and women in our Municipality and beyond, these are words from an old student now MCE for Akatsi South Daniel Dagba during 60th anniversary launched on 14th June, 2025 in Abor.

He used the occasion to congratulate the school’s leadership, dedicated staff, hardworking students—both past and present—and the entire Abor community for reaching this significant milestone, “Sixty years of impactful educational service is a remarkable achievement, reflecting resilience, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence”.

Delivering his anniversary address on the theme for this year’s celebration, “60 Years of Impactful Journey: Providing Transformative Secondary Education through Indigenous Values and 21st Century Skills,” Mr. Dagba said, this captures the essence of the school’s proud history and its forward-looking vision-it underscores the importance of blending our rich cultural heritage with modern educational standards to prepare students for the challenges of the future.

“As we reflect on the journey so far, I want to emphasize that education is a collective responsibility. The success of Abor SHS has been driven by the commitment of teachers, parents, alumni, and the community. It is this collective effort that has sustained the school’s reputation for producing responsible, skilled, and morally upright citizens”, he noted.

He made a special appeal to old students and corporate institutions to the effect that the school needs their support now more than ever- “as we celebrate this milestone, I urge you to come on board—whether through financial contributions, mentorship programs, donations of equipment, or infrastructural development. Your involvement can significantly enhance the school’s facilities, including libraries, ICT labs, sports infrastructure, and student welfare programs”.

Talking to the alumni, the MCE said, “your achievements are a testament to the quality of education you received here. Your success stories serve as motivation for current students to aim higher. I encourage you to give back—be it through mentorship, scholarships, or infrastructure support—so that future generations can enjoy the same opportunities you did”.

In conclusion, he calls upon all stakeholders—government, alumni, corporate bodies, NGOs, and the community—to unite and work together to elevate Abor Senior High School to greater heights. “Let us ensure that the next chapter of its history is even more illustrious, filled with vibrant facilities, empowered students, and a strong community of supporters.

Happy 60th Anniversary to Abor SHS! May the school continue to rise and shine, fulfilling its motto of “Excellence and Service,” and may it remain a beacon of hope and progress for Ghana.

Thank you, and may God bless Abor Senior High School, the Akatsi South Municipality, and our beloved nation, Ghana”.
