A group calling itself Coalition of GaDangme Pressure Groups has rejected the attempt by the Ghana Revenue Authority to probe Richard Nii Armah-Quaye’s Income Tax after his birthday bash.

The group claimed to have taken note of the Ghana Revenue Authority’s (GRA) sudden interest in probing the personal income tax status of Richard Nii Armah-Quaye, the founder of Bills Micro-Credit accused the Authority of “selective scrutiny” which they say “appears to be less about enforcing tax laws and more about an orchestrated attempt to undermine successful Ga Dangme entrepreneurs”.

The statement issued in Accra and signed by Nii Ayitey Armah however, noted “the founder of Bills Micro-Credit remains committed to compliance and cooperation with the appropriate authorities”.

below is the full statement:

GRA’S PROBE INTO RICHARD NII ARMAH-QUAYE’S PERSONAL INCOME TAX; AN ORCHESTRATED ATTEMPT TO SABOTAGE GADANGME BUSINESSMEN.

We have taken note of the Ghana Revenue Authority’s (GRA) sudden interest in probing the personal income tax status of Richard Nii Armah-Quaye, the founder of Bills Micro-Credit.

While we fully respect the role of the GRA in ensuring tax compliance, the timing and nature of this investigation raise serious concerns about its intent.

For years, Richard Nii Armah-Quaye has operated with transparency and in full compliance with tax regulations. It is highly questionable that no concerns were raised until after his well-publicized 40th birthday celebration.

This selective scrutiny appears to be less about enforcing tax laws and more about an orchestrated attempt to undermine successful Ga Dangme entrepreneurs.

We categorically reject any form of targeted harassment under the guise of regulation. We expect the GRA to conduct its duties with fairness, impartiality, and respect for due process.

Any deviation from this will not only be challenged but will also expose systemic biases that hinder Indigenous business growth.

The founder of Bills Micro-Credit remains committed to compliance and cooperation with the appropriate authorities.

However, we will not stand by while reputations are unfairly tarnished. Should this probe be driven by ulterior motives rather than genuine regulatory concerns, we are prepared to pursue all necessary legal avenues to protect the rights of our fellow tribesmen.

Signed, Nii Ayitey Armah

Why didn’t they operate like these when former president Akufo-Addo and his Akyem gang were in party?
Were they sleeping or in coma?
