As part of his commitment to job creation and economic empowerment, the Member of Parliament for Madina Constituency, Hon. Dr. Francis-Xavier Sosu Lawyer Francis-Xavier Sosu has launched the Madina Monthly Free Vocational Master Class through the Madina Job Center.
The maiden edition, dubbed Catering 101, attracted over 60 beneficiaries from diverse backgrounds. Participants included market women from the Madina Market, students from West Africa Senior High School (WASS), pupils from La Nkwatanang Madina Basic School, as well as community members drawn from Madina West to Danfa and across the various electoral areas within the constituency.

The training was notably inclusive, bringing together males and females, adults and youth, within an age range of 14 to 45 years. This wide participation reflects a growing entrepreneurial consciousness across generations in Madina and underscores the community’s readiness to embrace skills based economic empowerment.
Participants received hands on training in the commercial preparation of high demand food products such as spring rolls and samosa.
In addition to practical demonstrations, the session incorporated basic business principles including costing, pricing, packaging, and market positioning ensuring that beneficiaries are not only skilled but also business ready.

Speaking at the launch, the initiative was described as more than a vocational exercise.
It is a deliberate intervention to stimulate micro-enterprise development, reduce unemployment, and promote self-sufficiency within the constituency. By offering the training free of charge, the program removes financial barriers and expands access to opportunity.
The Monthly Vocational Master Class forms part of the MP’s broader commitment to sustainable job creation and inclusive local economic development.
Following the success of the maiden edition, future sessions are expected to introduce additional high impact vocational areas aligned with market demand.
In Madina, the focus is clear: empower the people, build enterprises, and create lasting economic opportunity.
