NADMO in collaboration with the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council (GARCC), has carried out a demolition exercise to remove unauthorized structures along the Kpeshie Lagoon in the La-Dade Kotopon Municipality.
The exercise was led by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Ocloo.

Speaking during the operation, the Director General of NADMO, Major Dr. Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon (Rtd), said the action aligns with the President’s directive and NADMO’s mandate to prevent flooding and protect lives, stressing that the interest of a few individuals would not be allowed to override the safety of the larger population.
Hon. Linda Ocloo explained that affected residents were duly served with eviction notices before the exercise, demonstrating the government’s commitment to due process rather than abrupt action.
The demolition forms part of NADMO’s proactive measures to safeguard the Kpeshie Lagoon and mitigate flood risks in Greater Accra.
Also present was the Member of Parliament for La-Dade Kotopon, Madam Rita Odoley Sowah, and the NADMO Deputy Director General in charge of Technical, Mr. Ahmed-Rufai Aggudey.
