It is with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families of the six young women who tragically lost their lives during the unfortunate stampede at the El-Wak Army Recruitment Center earlier today.
As a woman and as the Greater Accra Regional Minister, I am deeply saddened by this heartbreaking incident. Witnessing the scene firsthand was profoundly distressing, my thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victims during this difficult time.
This tragedy serves as a solemn reminder of the need for stronger safety protocols and better crowd management measures in all public exercises of this nature. My office is in close collaboration with the security agencies and relevant authorities to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident and to put in place immediate measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
May the souls of our departed sisters rest in perfect peace and may their families find comfort and strength in this moment of sorrow.
