Yale School of Management (SOM), the Graduate business school of Yale University, has appointed Togbe Afede XIV as Chair of its Council of Global Advisors, effective February 16, 2026.
THE COUNCIL OF GLOBAL ADVISORS
The Yale SOM Council of Global Advisors is comprised of global leaders who advise the Dean and the school’s senior leadership on strategies to expand the brand and reach of the school internationally. Members of the Council play an active role in shaping discussions, contributing expertise, and supporting key school initiatives.
MEMBERSHIP
Council members include outstanding alumni and non-alumni from a diverse set of countries and professional backgrounds.
Members are required to participate actively by attending meetings, engaging with fellow advisors, and contributing expertise to SOM initiatives.
APPOINTMENT, ROLE AND TERM AS CHAIR
Togbe’s appointment is based on his “admirable leadership, experience, life and career”.
As Chair, he will work with a distinguished group of leaders who advise the school’s senior leadership in advancing SOM’s core aspirations. He will help shape the Council’s priorities, work closely with Dean Kerwin Charles and other SOM leadership, guide member engagement, and oversee the Council’s overall direction.
Furthermore, Togbe’s insight will be helpful in strengthening student recruitment across regions, elevating global awareness of Yale SOM’s mission and impact, and deepening partnerships with organizations around the world.
He has a three-year term with the possibility for renewal, and will also serve as an ex-officio member of the SOM Board of Advisors.
