In a vibrant display of community engagement, the Member of Parliament for Odododiodioo Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie recently led a delegation to the James Town Fishing Harbour.
The visit aimed to foster direct dialogue with the backbone of the local economy—the fishermen and fishmongers.
Accompanying the MP were key local figures, including Paul Oblie Laryea: Constituency Chairman, Hon. Carlos Mankattah: Assembly Member for Kinka, The Chief Fisherman and other community stakeholders.
The interaction provided a platform for the MP to listen to the concerns of the fishing community, reaffirming a commitment to supporting their livelihoods and improving the infrastructure of the harbour.

Preparations for “Sese Bulemɔ” and “Kpaa Shimɔ”
Following the harbour visit, the MP met with the leadership of the “Kpaa Shimɔ” youth groups. The meeting focused on the strategic planning of this year’s traditional festivities.
A major highlight of the discussion was the coordination of the “Sese Bulemɔ” and “Kpaa Shimɔ” events, which are officially scheduled to take place on Monday, 19th January 2026.
These events remain a cornerstone of cultural identity and youth mobilization within the constituency.
The MP’s proactive involvement signals a strong start to the year, balancing economic support for the fishing industry with the preservation of the rich Ga heritage.
