International singer Selena Gomez has released a touching song called “Heal Ghana” to comfort the nation following the tragic helicopter crash that occurred on August 6, 2025, at Adansi Akrofoum in the Ashanti Region.
The crash claimed the lives of eight respected individuals: Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed, Samuel Sarpong, Samuel Aboagye, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Mane-Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
The song carries a clear and warm message, encouraging Ghanaians to heal from within while asking God Almighty to bring peace and strength to the nation.
Professor Kwamena Ahwoi, a respected academic and former Minister for Local Government, has commended the song for its impactful message. Known for his long-standing contribution to Ghana’s political and academic landscape, Prof. Ahwoi praised “Heal Ghana” for its appeal to unity and healing during a difficult time.
The lyrics focus on two main themes: self-healing and divine intervention. Gomez encourages the people of Ghana to come together in unity, drawing on their inner resilience to overcome grief. At the same time, she appeals to God Almighty to bring comfort and renewal to the country during this difficult time.
The tone of the song is appealing and inspiring a national cause for togetherness instead of political animosity. Through its gentle melody and meaningful words, “Heal Ghana” emphasizes that recovery is both a personal journey and a collective responsibility.
In his address to the nation, President Mahama expressed deep sorrow over the loss and called on all Ghanaians to remain united and strong in the face of this tragedy.
