In fulfillment of the constitutional provisions under Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama will present the presidential message to Ghanaians through Parliament.
The “Presidential Message” on the State of the Nation, to be delivered on Thursday, 27th February 2025, in Parliament, is expected to attract hundreds of diplomats and foreign investors, as well as all Ministers of State present in Parliament.
The Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, along with her team, will also be in attendance.
It is also anticipated that hundreds of NDC members will be led by the National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, together with some selected regional and constituency executives, who will also be in attendance.
The aforementioned provision in the Constitution states: “The President shall, at the beginning of each session of Parliament and before a dissolution of Parliament, deliver to Parliament a message on the state of the nation.” Accordingly, President Mahama is doing so at the beginning of the 1st session of the 1st meeting of the 9th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana.
Members of Parliament, invited guests, the media, and other persons are expected to be seated by 9:15 am, as outlined in the business statement presented to the House by the Leader of the House, Mahama Ayariga, for the week ending 28th February 2025.
