The Ghana School Feeding Secretariat has organized a regional orientation programme for newly engaged caterers in the Oti Region.
The event aimed to equip caterers with the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance the quality of service delivery under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP).
The Caterers were educated on the key pillars of programme implementation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness with emphasis on the importance of meal planning and food safety in ensuring that pupils receive healthy and nutritious meals
The Oti Regional Coordinator of the School Feeding Programme, Paulina Magyam, stressed that caterers play a crucial role in the effective implementation of the initiative. She assured participants of the Secretariat’s commitment to providing regular monitoring, supervision, and timely responses to their concerns.
The programme has benefited thousands of pupils across public basic schools in the Region, contributing to a steady rise in enrollment figures. The quality of meals served has a direct impact on the physical and mental development of children, and caterers must take their responsibilities seriously.
Participants at the orientation expressed appreciation to the Secretariat for the initiative, describing the training as timely and relevant to their work. They pledged to apply the knowledge acquired to improve the quality and safety of meals delivered in schools.
