The Minister of Defence, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah is a promin From August 2023 up to December 2024 the previous government’s accrued debt to food suppliers is about Ghc270 million.

Yesterday, we held a crucial meeting to deliberate on sustainable food supply for the Ghana Armed Forces.

 

It was revealed that the Akufo-Addo Bawumia government did not prioritize food provision for the Ghana Armed Forces.

Yet, we all know soldiers don’t march on empty stomach.

 

Huge food supply debt!

 

From August 2023 up to December 2024 the previous government’s accrued debt to food suppliers is about Ghc270 million.

 

Finance Minister Ato Forson has promised to be paying current bills as we work towards settling the arrears of over Ghc270 million left behind by the NPP government.

 

We’re determined to provide short term and medium term solutions to this avoidable food supply problem.

 

We’ll commence that journey of food supply solutions next week.

    This barbaric and unwarranted this must not happen in a civilised society again and we should help and support the defence ministry to pay off this dep
