The Volta Regional Representative on the Council of State, Dr Gabriel Kwamigah Atokple also known as Chief Tanko had received a royal delegation led by Torgbuiga Akpo Ashiakpor VI, the warlord of Weta and the President of Weta Traditional Council in his Accra office.
Torgbuiga and his delegation expressed their profound gratitude for the continuous support extended to the people, particularly his involvement in the recent Weta Rice Festival.
Torgbiga conveyed his delight that, “despite my demanding duties, I made time to be part of the celebration, describing it as a true reflection of commitment to community development and the preservation of our cultural heritage”.
At discussions table Torgbuiga and Chief Tanko shared the same sentiment in condemning the recent attacks on police officers stationed at Ehi a suburb of Weta, stressing that such acts of violence have no place in their society.
Both reaffirmed the need to uphold peace, mutual respect, and cooperation as vital ingredients for community safety and progress.
Kwamigah Atokple expressed his appreciation for the royal visit and reiterated his belief that sustainable peace and coexistence among traditional leaders remain essential to development.
“I emphasized that dialogue and the peaceful resolution of differences pave the way for growth and stability in our communities. As a proud native of the area, I assured Torgbuiga of my continued readiness to offer support whenever the need arises”, he noted.
