The Committee was at the Ghana School of Law, where the Director, His Lordship Nana Justice Barima Yaw Kodie Oppong, and his team took them on a brief tour of the school premises. The school faces numerous challenges, including an upgrade to its facilities that have been in use for decades, a limited number of permanent lecturers, a need for staff promotions and salary increases, and more.

The Committee also held talks with Mrs. Maame Samar Peprah, the Acting Director of the Office of the Registrar of Companies, and her team. Some of the challenges affecting the Office’s productivity include the need to develop a new app for smooth operations, insolvency issues, poor security, and inadequate staffing.

The Committee also engaged the Acting Executive Director of the Law Reforms Commission, Mr. Mark Ziwu, and his team. The Commission requested a cross-country vehicle, stable internet, laptops, and printers.

The Vice Chairman of the Committee, Hon. James Enu, assured the institutions that their concerns would be addressed by the Minister of Justice and the Attorney General, and gave an undertaking that they would do everything possible to support these institutions and foster good working relationships.
