The Metropolitan Chief Executive of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly, Ebi Bright, has called for unity and peaceful coexistence as Muslims mark Eid al-Fitr.
Speaking at celebrations on 20 March 2026, she described Tema as a city defined by strong ties across faiths and communities, saying she felt “like family” among residents.

Representing President John Dramani Mahama and Local Government Minister Ahmed Ibrahim, the mayor congratulated the Metropolitan Chief Imam, Sheikh Hussein Ahmed, on his recent coronation and pledged support for Islamic education and youth programmes.
She praised the Muslim community for its discipline and generosity during Ramadan and highlighted its longstanding contribution to Tema’s development.

Hon. Bright also described recent kind gesture from the Assembly as a shared responsibility, not charity, and urged residents to uphold the values of Ramadan.

She ended with a call for continued unity in Ghana, saying religious diversity should remain a source of strength.
