The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, on Monday, 7th April 2025, launched the 3rd GHATUSA Games at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast, and the event is scheduled to be hosted by Cape Coast Technical University.
The Games are expected to unearth and identify talents for various disciplines from technical Universities across the country.
Addressing the gathering, Kofi Adams commended the organizers, the Ghana Technical Universities Sports Association (GHATUSA), for their sustained commitment to nurturing sports talents since the inception of the GHATUSA Games.

With these setbacks, President John Dramani Mahama’s Administration is committed to resetting the sports ecosystem through infrastructure development and sustained funding mechanisms to promote sports development.
He hinted at the establishment of the School Sports Agency which would be used to help organize major school events such as the GHATUSA Games, and others to manage and monitor young talents.
“The Government of Ghana headed by President John Dramani Mahama has plans to actively engage the security services to reserve slots for outstanding athletes identified through competition such as the GHATUSA Games”, he stated.
