The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr. Simon Madjie (Esq), has hinted that Ghana has attracted over US$3.9 billion in Chinese foreign direct investment (FDI) over the past 10 years.

Speaking at the Ghana-China Business Summit in Accra, Mr. Madjie said the investments have resulted in the execution of 424 projects across the country and created more than 39,000 jobs.

The largest portion of the funds, approximately US$2.7 billion, went to the manufacturing sector, he said, followed by the general trading, construction, and services sectors.

Mr. Madjie also emphasized the growing Chinese interest in strategic areas such as industrial zones, logistics, energy, and infrastructure, stating that these actions put Ghana as a gateway to West Africa’s regional market.

He described Ghana as one of Africa’s most resilient and investor-friendly destinations, adding that the country’s stable business environment continues to attract key development partners.

In order to foster long-term growth, the GIPC CEO urged Ghanaian and Chinese companies to form consistent partnerships.
