The Sokpoe Traditional Area is gearing up for its grand 40th Tortsogbeza festival in 2026, themed _“From the Toils of Our Ancestors to the Progress of Today: Celebrating 40 Years of Heritage, Health and Communal Growth.”_ The celebration will blend traditional rites, music, sports, and community health initiatives into a vibrant cultural showcase.

The festival kicks off with *Mass Traditional Funeral Rites* divided into three groups running from 22nd to 28th March, honoring ancestral customs in communities like Ahadofeme, Avunufeme, and Fa/Laglahfeme. The official program then unfolds with a packed lineup:
– *March 28*: Community clean‑up, health screening for the elderly, and festival football games.
– *March 29*: Football gala and Sokpoe tribute for Christ.
– *March 30*: Tortoogbe Marathon and health screening for all ages.
– *March 31*: Bicycle tour for women and men.
– *April 1*: Women & Children’s Day with cooking competition and Borborbor night featuring live music.
– *April 2–6*: Exhibition & food bazaar, traditional dressing showcase, candlelight procession, historic river crossing, and finale events like the Miss Tortsogbe concert and river cruise on Volta.

The event is sponsored by big names like Guinness, MTN, Telecel, and Dew Fresh, highlighting its community and commercial impact.
