The Member of Parliament for Techiman North and Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Lawyer Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare on 26th February 2025 paid a working visit to the Komenda Sugar Factory to assess its current condition. She was accompanied by the MP for the area, Samuel Atta-Mills, the Central Regional Minister, Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah, Chief of Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Okatakyi Komey VIII, and other esteemed elders.
In her remarks, the sector Minister mentioned the fact, that reviving the Komenda Sugar Factory is a key priority under H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s agenda to strengthen Ghana’s industrial base.
This she said, the initiative will not only reduce the country’s dependence on imported sugar but also create thousands of jobs and establish a more secure and sustainable value chain.
“The road to industrial transformation is clear, and we are committed to making it a reality in Ghana”, she added.
