The Western Regional Police Command has arraigned seven (7) accused persons—Ibrahim Dauda, Michael Tettey Komlorm, Douglas Ayambila, Elvis Aborta, Nsoh Oto alias Agorogo, Kwadwo George alias Sergio, and Emmanuel Van alias Atta—before the Special Court for Illegal Mining at Sekondi.
The accused persons who were charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and undertaking mining activities without a license have been remanded into prison custody to reappear before the court on 17th April 2025.
In a related development, two more Chinese nationals, Huan Ciongjian (38) and Ling Yong (56), were arrested for illegal mining along the Bonsa river banks.
All foreign nationals arrested have been handed over to the Ghana Immigration Service.
