HIS Royal Majesty Togbe Afede XIV led a high-level delegation of Chinese investors on a strategic visit to the proposed Keta Harbour Site to explore long-term industrial investment opportunities in the Volta Region.
The visit focused on assessing the feasibility of establishing an ultramodern oil refinery in Keta, alongside potential investments in the petrochemical industry, leveraging the hydrocarbon prospects of the Keta and Volta basins.
The delegation was received by the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, the Member of Parliament for Keta Dzudzorli Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, and traditional leaders led by Togbe Tenge Dzokoto Gligui VII, Paramount Chief of Amugo Wego and Dufia of Anyako, as well as the Paramount Chief of Anlo-Afiadenyigba.
In his address to stakeholders, including youth leaders, Togbe Afede XIV reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with government, traditional authorities, investors, and the youth to advance national development and create sustainable job opportunities. He emphasized that meaningful development is achieved through unity, shared vision, and collaboration.
He further pledged to champion strategic partnerships and transformative projects across the Volta Region, highlighting that these initiatives aim not only at infrastructure development but also at community empowerment, economic growth, and securing a prosperous future for present and future generations.
Togbe Afede expressed optimism that sustained collaboration will elevate living standards and overall well-being in the Volta Region and Ghana at large.
He also supported Togbe Tenge Dzokoto’s call for the youth to equip themselves with discipline and relevant skills to fully benefit from the opportunities these projects will generate.
