It was a great privilege to host the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Hon. Sam Nartey George in the Ketu North Municipality. He came with His Entourage to the Amissah Arthur Learning Centre, Ohawu where the Girls in ICT workshop is currently underway. His visit was both significant and inspiring.
The Minister visited to assess the ongoing training and interacted with the students. He encouraged them to take the program seriously, stressing that it presents a valuable opportunity to explore careers in computer science, programming and IT. His message was clear: this initiative is a vital platform for developing the next generation of technology professionals.
He was accompanied by the CEO of GIFEC, Hon. Tanko Rashid and the Chief Administrator at the Ministry of Communication. The presence of these key figures greatly motivated the students and I was particularly proud that Ketu North was the Minister’s first visit.
To the young girls participating in this initiative, I urge you to embrace this opportunity with dedication and focus. This program, under the leadership of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, is designed to empower you with relevant digital skills for the future.
My sincere appreciation goes to our hardworking MP, Hon. Edem Agbana for initiating and leading this impactful effort. I am also grateful to the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu for honoring the occasion with his presence.
To the Regional IT Director, all supporting staff and party faithfuls, thank you for your commitment and support.
