At the 17th Congregation of the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), the CEO of ICAG, Kwasi Agyemang, FCA, admonished the graduating class to master new digital tools while developing the uniquely human capabilities that make accountants and financial analysts indispensable business partners.
Mr. Agyemang, FCA, was speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the ceremony which saw about 800 students graduating.
The CEO emphasised that Ghana’s financial sector is expanding rapidly, with foreign investment pouring in and new technology-driven industries emerging. According to him, the Government’s focus on resetting Ghana’s economy creates unprecedented demand for skilled professionals who understand both local contexts and international standards.
“The digital revolution is fundamentally reshaping businesses in Ghana, and you stand at the forefront of this transformation”, he added.
He therefore advised the graduates to recognise the digital transformation as the greatest opportunity for their profession rather than see it as a threat, indicating that while machines can process data, they cannot replace the strategic thinking, ethical judgment, and relationship building that define exceptional accounting professionals.
Mr. Agyemang, FCA, reiterated ICAG’s commitment to equipping graduates with the requisite tools to become professional accountants.
At the ceremony, students who performed outstandingly were awarded, ICAG is a proud sponsor of the Best Graduating Student in BSc. Accounting and Finance.The award was received by Master Desmond Yeboah. Miss Sedem Denyigba was the Overall Best Student.
Mr. Agyemang, FCA, congratulated all award winners especially, the ICAG-sponsored awardee and wished all the 2025 graduating class success in their professional careers.
