The Ketu North Municipal Assembly has issued an immediate release detailing the apprehension of three individuals suspected of stealing food items meant for Wovenu Senior High Technical School.
The suspects—Bernard Amegbor, a police officer; Doris Foli, the school’s Assistant Matron; and her sister, Perfect Foli—were caught by vigilant community members while transporting cartons of milk, mackerel, bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, and other provisions intended for student feeding.
According to the release signed by the Municipal Chief Executive Rev. Martin Amenaki, the stolen goods were being conveyed in a vehicle belonging to the police officer involved.
The suspects have been handed over to the Dzodze Police Station for further investigation, and they are currently in police custody assisting with ongoing inquiries.
The Assembly emphasized that the incident serves as a warning against undermining government efforts to ensure students are adequately fed and supported.
It affirmed that food supplies for schools are exclusively for student welfare and nourishment, and any diversion or misuse of such resources will not be tolerated.
