“Today, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of our studentsโyour completion of academic programmes and your bold step into the next chapter of your lives,” she said. The university community congratulated the graduates and extended best wishes for their future endeavors.
The university also highlighted its progress over the past year, guided by its Strategic Plan (2024-2029). Ghanaโs leading university has strengthened its position as a regional and global academic leader through strategic investments in research, innovation, governance, infrastructure, and student experience.
The universityโs efforts are driven by five strategic priorities: Transformative Student Experience, Impactful Research, Commitment to Faculty and Staff, Engagement and Partnerships and Sustainable Resource Mobilization and Stewardship.
These priorities ensure that the university remains resilient, relevant, and prepared to face global challenges, fostering an environment of continuous growth and innovation.
A significant development in the universityโs governance was the implementation of new Statutes in 2024, which have strengthened decentralization and improved institutional efficiency. The establishment of new directorates and the reorganization of existing units have clarified mandates, enhanced accountability, and improved performance measurement across the university.
As the University of Ghana celebrates its graduates and continues its strategic growth, it remains committed to providing a transformative educational experience, advancing impactful research, and fostering sustainable development. The future looks promising for this esteemed institution as it continues to shape the minds of tomorrow and contribute meaningfully to Ghana and the world.
