The Member of Parliament for Central Tongu, Alexander Roosevelt Gabby Hottordze, on Sunday, 31st August 2025, donated an undisclosed amount of money to the Mafi Kpevekor community, a suburb of Mafi Kumase, in support of their ongoing road reshaping project.
Hon. Hottordze, who also serves as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Trade, Industry and Tourism, emphasized that his goal is to ensure a good road network across the constituency to enhance transportation and make it easier for residents to transact business.
Mafi Kpevekor is a farming community that transports large quantities of foodstuffs to the Mafi Kumase Market, and improved roads will directly benefit the community’s economic activities.
The donation was presented to Mr Livingston Doku, Headman of Mafi Kpevekor in the presence of the Youth Leaders, other community elders and residents.
The MP who doubles as a Member of the Governing Board of Ghana’s Data Protection Commission pledged his continued support to communities that demonstrate a spirit of self-development. He encouraged constituents to pull resources together, stating that “development can be fully realized if we all work hand in hand.” He further called on residents to feel free to approach leadership whenever assistance is needed.
The MP used the opportunity to thank the Community for voting massively for him and his Presidential Candidate, His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama in the last 2024 General Elections.
Earlier this month, the District Chief Executive for Central Tongu, Addison Dodzi Mornyuie, also pledged the Assembly’s support during a radio engagement on Freedom FM, highlighting plans to assist communities, including Mafi Kpevekor, with road reshaping projects. Currently, some of these roads are already under construction.
Together, the MP and the DCE have assured constituents of their commitment to transform Central Tongu with the active participation and support of all residents.
