During the discussion, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe shared her insights on two crucial aspects of women’s empowerment:

Helping women participate in governance – She highlighted the importance of creating an enabling environment for women to engage in leadership and decision-making processes. She proposed strategies such as reserved seats, leadership training, and financial support to encourage more women to step into governance roles. She emphasized that true progress can only be achieved when women are given equal opportunities to lead and influence policies that shape the future.

Helping women leaders make a difference – She stressed the need for mentorship, networking, and access to resources to empower women in leadership. She underscored the importance of training programs and financial support to help women leaders grow and make a meaningful impact in their respective fields.

The event attracted an array of dignitaries, including diplomats, ambassadors, members of parliament, entrepreneurs, and CEOs. Notably, the Minister for Women and Children’s Affairs, Honourable Agnes Momo, the Deputy Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Honourable Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, and business leader Kate Quartey-Papafio were in attendance, alongside other influential personalities.

Beyond the conversations on women’s rights and empowerment, the event was a celebration of Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, featuring vibrant displays of traditional music, dance, and attire, adding to the excitement and significance of the occasion.

Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe expressed her sincere appreciation to Her Excellency, Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, and the organizers of the 2025 Women’s Dialogue for providing such a meaningful platform to advance the cause of women.

She reaffirmed her commitment to continuing the conversation and collaborating with stakeholders to champion policies that support women’s empowerment and leadership. She remains confident that with collective effort, society can create a more just and equitable future where women and girls can thrive.
