The Municipal Chief Executive of Ketu North, has marked her first year in office with a reflection on achievements and a renewed commitment to development. In a statement, she expressed gratitude to the Chiefs, kinsmen, Member of Parliament, Assembly Members, and the people of Ketu North for their support and trust.

During her first year, the Assembly has prioritized efficiency, coordination, and improved welfare, with significant improvements in working conditions and Internal Generated Fund (IGF). Key projects include infrastructure development, healthcare, water and sanitation, and agriculture support.

Notable achievements include improved healthcare service delivery, enhanced security, and progress on the ECOWAS market and 24-hour market initiatives. The MCE acknowledged progress made but emphasized the need for continued work, outlining plans to expand infrastructure, strengthen healthcare and education, and create opportunities for youth.

Below is the full statement on his Facebook page:

As I mark my first year in office as Municipal Chief Executive of Ketu North today, I do so with deep gratitude and a strong sense of responsibility. I am sincerely thankful to the Chiefs and kinsmen of our four paramountcies and zones: Weta, Dzodze, Afife, and Penyi for their guidance and support.

I also extend my appreciation to our hardworking Member of Parliament, Hon. Eric Edem Agbana, the Presiding Member, Hon. Edward Seke, party executives, Assembly Members, opinion leaders, the media, Assembly staff
Ketu-North Municipal Assembly, and the good people of Ketu North. Your trust, cooperation and belief in our shared vision have made this first year both impactful and fulfilling.

Inside the Assembly

Within the Assembly, we have prioritized efficiency, coordination and improved welfare. The working conditions and general welfare of Assembly Members and staff have seen significant improvement, fostering a more motivated and productive workforce.

We have also strengthened our Internal Generated Fund (IGF), enhancing our capacity to finance development initiatives and reduce over-reliance on central government transfers. Our governance approach has been anchored on transparency, accountability and teamwork—ensuring that the Assembly remains responsive, effective and people-centered.

The Journey

Over the past twelve months, we have remained focused on delivering tangible results while ensuring that our people benefit from national programmes and policies. In infrastructure, we undertook the construction and rehabilitation of classroom blocks, CHPS compounds, and roads to improve access to education, healthcare and mobility. Progress in water and sanitation has also been notable, with additional projects scheduled for completion this year.

In the health sector, service delivery has improved considerably, supported by the dedication of our health workers and the strong performance of the NHIS. Security across the municipality has also seen marked improvement, creating a safer environment for residents and businesses. Importantly, our long-standing cattle-related challenges have been brought under control through decisive and coordinated efforts.

Agriculture, as the backbone of our local economy, has been strengthened through the distribution of farming tools and fertilizers to support our farmers and boost productivity. At the same time, we are on course to commence the ECOWAS market and the 24-hour market—strategic initiatives that will stimulate trade, create jobs, and expand economic opportunities for our people.

Looking Ahead

While we acknowledge the progress made, our focus remains firmly on the future. We are determined to deepen development across all sectors by expanding infrastructure, strengthening healthcare and education, and creating more opportunities for our youth. Our commitment is to align local priorities with national development policies to ensure sustained growth and inclusive progress.

The foundation has been laid, but there is more work ahead. With unity, continued collaboration, and the support of our people, we are confident in building a stronger, more prosperous, and forward-looking Ketu North where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive.
