This partnership aims to explore opportunities within the sector, which significantly contribute to Ghana’s economic development.

The discussions centered on the following areas, namely:

  1. a) Strengthening NIB’s Financial Base: The partnership will enable the Ministry to channel funds and those of its agencies through the bank, thereby enhancing NIB’s financial base.
  2. b) NIB Supporting National Development: The collaboration will strengthen and enhance NIB’s financial base to support the government’s developmental initiatives.
  3. c) There were also discussions of NIB helping to collect revenue at national heritage sites such as the forts and castles across the country, as a way of streamlining and enhancing the efficiency of revenue collection at these sites.
  4. d) On her part, The Minister, Dzifa Gomashie welcomed the prospect of partnering with NIB. She revealed that the Ministry is on the verge of securing a grant from investors aimed at infrastructure improvement. She assured the team that she would do well to obtain the necessary approvals to enable the Ministry to open an account with NIB to manage the project funds.
  5. e) Empowering Women and Cultural Tourism: In line with the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Madam Gomashie appealed to the Bank to consider initiatives that would benefit women. She highlighted the importance of empowering women and promoting Cultural tourism as avenues for sustainable development.
