In his remarks, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. John Bless Oti, commended the Jospong Group of Companies, with the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant being one of its subsidiaries, for the good work done so far. “Several issues have been raised to the Committee, and it’s only proper to visit the waste management industry in Accra to be able to prepare an informed report before Parliament,” he said.

The Vice Chairman of the Committee, Joycelyn Tetteh, urged the company to partner with the community to decentralize information on waste management, educating the public on the importance of this initiative.

Members of the Committee unanimously commended the company for its hard work in turning the national crisis into a model of dignity and impact. From introducing modern waste collection systems to building over 36 treatment and recycling plants, they are impressed by its investment in waste management and want to see the effort and hard work translate to the ground. We can work, but the challenge now is training.

The Chairman of the Committee later calls for unity and togetherness in championing the cause of waste management practices for the betterment of our health and the country as a whole.

“This committee will not rest until we see attitudinal change,” he said.
