From the 18th to 20th of November 2025, the Public Relations Office, in collaboration with National Security and the Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Department of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) Ltd, embarked on a community relations exercise to sensitize communities and firms located along the refinery’s pipeline routes as TOR prepares to resume operations soon.
The team engaged leaders of the various communities and firms situated along the pipeline stretch—from the refinery to the Port and from the Port back to the refinery.
The purpose of this engagement was to educate stakeholders on the risks associated with encroachment or activities close to the pipelines. It also sought to collaborate with them on possible relocation or the need to maintain a safe distance from the pipeline routes to prevent any potential hazards and to ensure unobstructed access in case of emergencies, especially as the refinery gears up for full operational activities.
The exercise was successful, with active participation from all stakeholders. TOR will continue to undertake such proactive engagements along the pipeline stretch and beyond to safeguard lives and property. Key areas covered include, but are not limited to, the routes linking the refinery to the Cocoa Marketing Company, Cocoa Processing Company and Verad Transport & Logistics Ltd,.
Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) Ltd remains committed to serving its communities and fostering strong, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders. We recognize that collaboration is a vital component of good corporate governance, and the Public Affairs Unit will continue to prioritize such initiatives to build a safe and supportive working environment for all.
