Work on the reconstruction of the Dodowa- Afienya- Dawhenya and selected town roads project is progressing steadily. The Project commenced on 5th December, 2025 and is expected to completed on 4th December 2027.
The progress of work is 35%, putting the project ahead of schedule.

The scope of the project includes:
• 24.8 km Single Carriageway asphaltic concrete Road with shoulders and walkways
• 4km Dual carriageway at Dodowa, Afienya and Dawhenya junctions
• 40m Span 4-Lane Concrete Bridge over River Detsedor at Afienya
• Bridge at Ch 9+540 – 8m X 4m 30m slab (0.7m thick) walls 0.6m thick
• 8No. major box culverts and 28 pipe culverts
• 28.7 km of Concrete U-drains (various sizes)

• 550m storm drain 1.6m x 1.3m high
• 40m length 8m X 4m Outfall Concrete lined Channel
When completed, the project will serve as a key link between communities such as Dodowa, Afienya, and Dawhenya. The corridor will also support movement of goods especially between Accra and nearby districts.
The Minister of Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwame Agbodza visited the project site, as part of an inspection tour of various projects within the Greater Accra Region.

Hon. Agbodza expressed satisfaction with the delivery of quality work and adherence to timelines, with certain sections already showing significant advancement.
He commended the contractor, Oswal Investment Group for their commitment and urged them to maintain the momentum to ensure timely completion of the project for the benefit of surrounding communities and road users.
