The Volta Region House of Chiefs has expressed deep concern and condemnation over the actions of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) regarding its handling of matters involving the Volta Region’s representative on the Council of State, Dr. Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple.
In a press statement dated 7th April 2026, the House noted that EOCO acted without lawful mandate and violated constitutional principles of fairness, as ruled by the High Court. Despite the court’s clear ruling, EOCO continued to challenge and defy the court’s authority.
The House strongly condemns EOCO’s posture, calling it an affront to administrative justice and the constitutional order. They urge EOCO to act with restraint and respect for the courts and rule of law.
