The Volta Regional Representative on the Council of State, Dr. Gabriel Kwamigah Atokple, also known as Chief Tanko, has led a high-powered delegation on a courtesy call to Togbi Sri III, the Awomefia of Anlo, at his palace in Anloga.
“As a Member of the Council of State representing the Volta Region, I was pleased to be part of this important engagement, which also included Mr. Mawutor Agbavitor (Volta Regional NDC Chairman), Wonder Kutor (Board Member, VRA), Augustus Awity (Chief Director of VRCC), Municipal and District Chief Executives, and other dignitaries.”, he said.
The purpose of the visit was to express their sincere appreciation to the Awomefia and the Anlo Traditional Council for their consistent support and to reaffirm their collective commitment to the development of Anlo and the broader Volta Region.
The Team also used the opportunity to discuss deeper collaboration between traditional leadership, politics, and governance through effective partnerships.
In his address, Togbi Sri III extended his gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for recent appointments in the Region.
He also highlighted key development priorities such as the establishment of a School of Pharmacy in Anloga, completion of the Keta Port, and improvement of road and public infrastructure, and also called for a review of the Chieftaincy Act to reflect traditional governance structures more accurately.
On behalf of the Team, Chief Tanko promised his commitment to supporting initiatives that will promote inclusive development and preserve the cultural heritage of the people.
He thanked Togbi Sri III and the Anlo Dukor Traditional Council for their hospitality and enduring commitment to the advancement of the Region.
