The Administration and Human Resources Division of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has outlined key priorities for 2026 following a two-day strategic retreat aimed at strengthening internal coordination and improving service delivery.

The retreat, organised by the Administration and Human Resources Division, brought together key directors including those from Administration, Human Resources, Corporate Affairs, Private Health Insurance Scheme, Procurement and Projects, and Legal to review performance and align on a shared strategic direction.

Deliberations focused on assessing 2025 activities, addressing institutional challenges, and identifying practical strategies to enhance internal systems across the Authority.

Deputy Chief Executive for Administration and Human Resources, Mr Raphael Segkpeb, in his opening remarks, expressed confidence that the engagements would deepen collaboration among the various units. He noted that the presentations were expected to provide clarity on the functions and challenges of each unit, ultimately strengthening coordination across the organisation.

The NHIA Legal Director, Mrs Annette Obenewaa Adutwum, highlighted a shift in the Division’s approach from routine administrative functions to a more strategic role centered on leadership development, internal alignment, and institutional transformation.

She explained that the Division is being repositioned as the “engine room” for driving the Chief Executive’s vision, with a focus on building a cohesive leadership structure that promotes efficiency, adaptability, and public trust.

Directors and Deputy Directors also presented reviews of their 2025 performance, outlining key achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and priorities for the coming year. The sessions featured interactive discussions and a question-and-answer segment to clarify policies and strengthen operational coherence.

Closing the retreat, Mr Segkpeb commended participants for their insightful contributions and stressed the need for discipline and consistency in executing their mandates. He urged attendees to cascade the knowledge gained to their respective teams and maintain the momentum built during the retreat.
