The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry has officially transferred management of 31 Technology Solution Centers (TSCs) from the Rural Enterprise Project (REP) to the GRATIS Foundation as part of efforts to reposition them as key drivers of Ghana’s 24-hour economy initiative.

Speaking at the handover ceremony at the Elmina TSC, the Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Sampson Ahi said the move aligns with the government’s strategy to empower local industry and enhance productivity through innovation and skills development. “These are not just machines; they’re a mandate to lead Ghana’s technological transformation,” he noted.

The TSCs, which operate across all 16 regions, will focus on local fabrication of agro-processing equipment, vocational training, and the integration of emerging technologies.

GRATIS Foundation plans to introduce advanced tools, including Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, and strengthen partnerships with the private sector.

The GRATIS CEO Dr. Isaac Adaebsah pledged to transform the Centers into “vibrant engines of innovation, training, and productivity.” At the same time, REP National Director Mr. Kwasi Attah-Antwi described the TSCs as “living legacies” of the programme, which ends in December 2025.

The event was attended by stakeholders from government institutions, traditional leaders, industry players, and development partners.
