The Municipality Chief Executive of Akatsi South, Daniel Dagba, has vowed to tackle water, sanitation, and security issues confronting traders in the Akatsi Central Market as raised by Traders.
He said Assembly is crafting a comprehensive document to deal with these challenges in coming months, and “together, we’re crafting a brighter future for our market, where traders can thrive in a safe, clean, and vibrant environment.”.
In a Media interview after interacting with the traders in the market, Mr. Dagba said, “With a collaborative spirit, we explored pragmatic solutions, including the relocation of vendors from the lorry park to designated areas. Our commitment to addressing each concern and enhancing the overall market experience shines through”.
He loved the fact that the traders’ voices were heard loud and clear, highlighting issues of insecurity, inadequate waste management, sanitation challenges, and drainage woes.
He described the move as a fruitful encounter with a section of Akatsi Central market traders for engaging in a productive dialogue, uncovering pressing concerns and innovative ideas to breathe new life into the market.
