The NDC Member of Parliament for Amasaman Sedem Afenyo has supported the Ghana Fire Service within the Ga West Municipality with cash worth ten thousand Cedis, (Ghc 10,000.00), quantities of Wellington boots, and Cutlasses.
The new MP for the area made the move as a result of malfunction state of the Two Tender machines at the station.
Speaking to the media after the presentation, the MP noted that he was moved by the no availability of fire tender to effectively combat and prevent fire incidents within Amasaman and its environs.
“So upon consultation, I got to know that the Starter of the one fire tender over here will cost GHc8,000.00 so I gave out ten thousand to defray the cost of fixing a new one”
“I also realized that the firefighter will require some Cutlasses and Wellington boots to complement their efforts in fire prevention” he noted
The donation together with the logistics were handed over to the Amasaman Fire Service Officer, Assistant Fire-2 Mary Blankson, as the MP acknowledged the fact that the lack of equipment for the firefighters in the area is affecting the citizens.
Assistant Fire Officer Two, Mary Blankson thanked the MP for the kind gesture with a promise to utilize the gift for the intended purpose.
She called on other benevolent individual to come to their aid to complement government efforts in fire prevention
