Residents of Akosombo, Adjena, Adumasa, Gyakiti, Anyaase, Mpaproase, Kudikope, Yeiniama and Sedorm have expressed excitement at the speedy progress of works on the Upgrading of Akosombo – Gyakiti – Kudikope Road & Yeiniama Junction – Sedorm Feeder Road Project.
The project started in November 2025 and is expected to be completed in November 2027.
The progress of work is 40%, putting the project ahead of schedule.
So far, the contractor has completed site clearing, and achieved 80% U- drains and 70% culvert construction, while pavement formation and subbase works are progressing steadily.

The scope of the project includes:
· Site clearance
· Earthworks
· Construction of U-drains and culverts
· Subbase and base works
· Double sealed bituminous surface dressing
· Road furniture and associated works
Upon completion, the road will bring about improved mobility and road safety, reduce travel time, enhance trade and tourism, reduce flooding, create employment.
