The Volta Regional Representative on the Council of State has joined Agbeko Odione Kumordzi and the family to commission the Charity Galley ICT Lab in Agbozume in Ketu South Municipality, Volta Region.
According to Chief Tanko, “This state-of-the-art facility is truly exceptional and represents the kind of investment our communities urgently need to prepare our children and young people for the demands of today’s digital world.”
With technology advancing rapidly, Chief Tanko adds that “they must be equipped with the tools and knowledge required to succeed in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT)”.
Mr. Atokple was impressed by the level of digital innovation presented during the commissioning and he was quick to say “As a Member of the Council of State representing the Region, and through the Tanko Foundation, together with our partners across the globe, we remain committed to supporting initiatives like this to ensure they achieve their intended impact and are sustained over time”.
He earlier supported the project with $5,000 as a way of committing to advancing digital literacy and empowering the next generation through technology.
He thanked Agbeko Odione Kumordzie for his foresight and dedication to nation-building; “No school or community should still be teaching ICT using only a chalkboard. Our children deserve better. They must be given the resources to compete on equal footing with their peers globally”.
