The National DRIP Secretariat has begun an inspection of all the machines in the country as part of preparations for the smooth take-off of their 2025 programme of work.
Inspecting the DRIP machines in the Obuasi East and West Municipal assemblies, the National Coordinator, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, bemoaned the lack of appropriate infrastructure for keeping the equipment and urged the assemblies to urgently provide sheds for them.
He also criticized the lack of proper care for the machines and admonished the new Operators and District Coordinators to change the narrative on maintenance culture.
He queried the District Coordinating Directors and the Road Engineers why most of the machines were not properly washed after their usage before being parked for months.
He ordered the officials to immediately take all those unwashed to the washing bays.
The National Coordinator was accompanied by the Deputy Director General of NADMO, Samuel Aboagye, and ING. Danquah, the Ashanti regional liaison of J.A Plant Pool.
