The High Court’s Criminal Division has adjourned the case of Mustapha Hamid and nine others to December 9, 2025, for plea-taking, after reassigning the case to a different court following the addition of charges.
The first defendant, Mustapha Hamid, could not pursue his passport release application due to the change in court jurisdiction, but may refile it later. The proceedings are scheduled to resume on the new date, with further updates to follow.
The adjournment follows an administrative reassignment of the case from Criminal Court 3 to Criminal Court 4 after prosecutors filed additional charges, increasing the counts from 25 to 54.
Today’s hearing could not proceed as planned because the new court has rescheduled the matter to its next available date, 9 December.
Meanwhile, the first accused, Mustapha Hamid, could not move his application for the release of his passport owing to the change in court. He may move the application on the next adjourned date. His motion relates to travel plans to Canada between 17 and 23 November 2025 to attend an alleged political event.
