MP for Central Tongu shocked as Police exhume Human Remains from Shrine at Mafi Gblorkorpe

The Member of Parliament for the Central Tongu, Alexander Hotordze has on Tuesday, 9th July visited the crime scene at Mafi Gblorkorpe where, tragically, human remains were exhumed from a shrine.

He was accompanied by the District Chief Executive (DCE) Addison Dodzi Mornyuie, officials from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), and other key stakeholders to ascertain the fact.

His visitation follows a police led operation on Monday 8th July, 2025 which led to the arrest of individuals suspected of the gruesome murder of a man, describing the development as “deeply troubling, and as a community, we cannot and will not tolerate such acts of barbarism”.

The MP in an interview with media tasked the security services to deepen their investigations to ensure that every individual involved in this heinous act faces the full rigours of the law-, “Justice must be served not only for the deceased but for the entire community, whose peace and safety have been shaken by this incident”.

 

Mr.  Hotordze however ask the community folks to remain calm and support the ongoing investigations, “I assure my constituents that we will not rest until justice is done. The safety of our people remains a top priority”.
